Dr Brenden D Tempest-Mogg - President

Educator pioneer, lecturer, workshop facilitator, and college visionary. He has 40 years experience in international education, quality assurance, and distance learning. As a graduate of the University of Oxford, he extols the importance of excellence in education. This is reflected throughout all the ADL course offerings.
Dr Julian Ng - Vice President
B.Bus, M.Ed, PhD, CTEFLA
Julian is a certified lead auditor for ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 27001:2005, an international professional speaker and trainer and educational advisor. In his spare time, he consults for businesses in Asia, Europe and South America. He lecturers on the various ABE programmes including management, marketing and organisational behaviour.
Dr Daryl D Tempest-Mogg - Director of Vocational Training
Brings over 35 years expertise in international and distance education. He is chairman of of the Warnborough group of college's. As ADL's Director of Vocational Training, his responsibilities include the implementation of student services and ensures that academic quality and course structuring are maintained to a high standard. In addition, he overseers the day-to-day running of the Academy.
Amanda White - Course Advisor
Is our course advisor and is the first point of contact that students have before enrolling. Amanda, has been a PR for many years and her experience in this field and friendly and welcoming personality go along way in making students feel at ease. Amanda, also overseers the supervision of assignments and the day-to-day running of enrolled students.
Becky Brooks - Registry
Has been associated with education for over 20 years. Her role as College Secretary is vital for the smooth day-to-day operation of the College. Becky is friendly and helpful in her dealings with students from all nationalities, and goes out of her way to ensure that all students academic and welfare needs are met.
Mihaela Foxley - Admissions
Looks after the admissions department Mihaela is responsible for the processing of applications from around the world. She is very efficient and dedicated to her role in the College, and she ensures that all applications are processed efficiently and quickly..
Nicholas Craig - IT
As head of our IT department. Nick is responsible for the artistic design and factual content of our websites and our other various publications, he also takes charge of the quality control side of the course material before it is sent to students.

Dr. Mark Fernando - Course Advisor
He has been associated with Warnborough for over 12 years, and he is responsible for external examinations including the ETS offerings. Mark has a wide background in education and is available to counsel students on their academic and career needs.
Carole Goldsmith - Australian Academic Co-ordinator
Carole is an international journalist reporting on business across the Asia Pacific region for Australian, NZ and Asian Media. She is also a professional trainer and teacher, proof reader, speech writer, public relations consultant and event organiser. In addition, Carole teaches at several TAFE colleges in Victoria and conducts corporate training.
The team at ADL is not only academic and industry qualified and experienced, but friendly, approachable, and dedicated to assisting all students achieve their goals. This is what ADL is all about. You will not be lost in the shuffle, or treated like a number, but as a real person with real needs. ADL will help you cross boundaries and widen your horizons.
Our Tutors
Part of the selection criteria, when appointing tutors, is that they have at least a tertiary qualification (there are sometimes exceptions to this rule where experience out-weighs qualifications) and 5 years industry experience. They must also remain active in industry, and demonstrate a willingness to be student-focused. Being able to share knowledge and give support to a student is a key criteria to teach at Warnborough. Additionally, friendliness, helpfulness and understanding the workings of distance learning are essential qualities tutors need to demonstrate when being appointed.
Michael Booth
B.Sc (Hons) Chemical Engineering, (University of Leeds), MSc with Merit Computer Science, (University of Kent), Executive Associate, Institute of Independent Business International
Michael has over 20 years experience in industry with a diverse academic background incorporating executive management, chemical engineering, and computer science. Michael has an international background and has worked as a technical director, production manager, and operations manager throughout companies across the world. He recently completed his MSc in Computer Science from the University of Kent, and is an executive associate of the Institute of the Independent Business International.
William Cook

William is an expert in the field of Engineering/Industrial Design, Education/Learning Theory and Management Studies. He has a diverse background ranging from industrial experience to academia. He has authored textbooks, course notes, journal articles and conference papers. A District Governor of Rotary International, his professional experience has included managing the Department of Open Learning for undergraduate and graduate students from Australia, Asia and the Pacific.
As Managing Director of his own research consultancy, William has directed projects for firms like BHP, the Workers Educational Association and the Australian Rotary Corporate Alliance Programme. His other interests include golf, tennis, walking, theatre and travel.
Emma Critchley
M.A in Photography, (currently enrolled with The Royal College of Art), B.A. (Hons) First Editoral Photography (University of Brighton), BTEC National Diploma Art & Design Foundation, Distinction (De Montfort University Leicester),
Emma Critchley is a multi award winning photographer based in the UK specializing in underwater photography and portraits.
Emma’s underwater photography has been exhibited internationally. Her work has been included in shows at The Australian Centre for Photography, Fotofreo 2006, The National Portrait Gallery and The Photographer’s Gallery. In 2007 she had her first solo show in London. Emma’s work has been widely featured in publications, including Australian Art Monthly, AN Magazine, Image magazine, HotShoe International, The Guardian and The Sunday Times.
In 2008 Emma collaborated with artist Sophie Lewis to produce, The Fear of Falling, a project funded by The Arts Council. The Fear of Falling exhibition took place in London Bridge in September 2008 and since then the work has been exhibited at Fulham Palace, The Photographer’s Gallery, The Independent Photographers Gallery and the Brighton Photo Fringe. Emma is currently working on a project funded by a bursary from the National Media Museum as well as doing an MA at the Royal College of Art. After gaining a first class degree in Photography from the University of Brighton, Emma’s underwater photography has been widely acclaimed, winning a number of awards. Over the last few years her work has been exhibited internationally, including shows in Canada, Australia and the UK.
Emma during the past 6 years has received many international photographic awards including shortlists, second and third places.

Barbara Z. D'Elia
B.A. (Duquesne University), M.A. (University of West Georgia), Ph.D. (United States International/Alliant University).
Dr. D'Elia is a psychologist, counselor, therapist, and mentor in the field of psychology.She began her career in the United States and has applied much of her expertise in the Middle East, where she established community and university mental health centers. Along with her husband, she developed a successful prison reform program, effecting change in the prison environment, the inmates, and the prison staff as well. Dr. D'Elia is interested in the actualization of human potential, the empowerment of women, and the interface of religion and psychology. Her research activities includes emotional intelligence, cross-cultural issues, violence in the media, family relations, and spirituality. Online teaching is her current main interest.
Jason Dodd
Jason has been a professional freelance photographer for over 20 years with many exhibitions held here in the UK and abroad. Jason also has a large commercial portfolio and includes commissions for :- 2007 Tour De France,FTSE, Royal Bank of Scotland, Esso, McDonald’s, Cambridge Education Group, Canterbury Christ Church University, Canterbury Cathedral, Land Rover, British Telecom.
Jason is a sessional tutor / visiting professional with Canterbury Christ Church University for their Photography BA Hons L1 Programme. He was also instrumental in designing aspects of the L1 Module: Introduction to Creative Photographic Practice.
Jason’s time management skills and professional approach have led to a successful delivery of module material and students who whilst creatively and technically challenged nevertheless have fun. This is, of course the best way to learn.
Jason delivers many workshops on photography and are always well-organised, detailed and appropriate to the level of study. He is also the winner of the Channel Chamber International trade award 2007 & 2008 and afinalists in the Invicta Chamber 2008 entrepreneur of the year awards.

Carole Goldsmith
Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) (RMIT University, TAFE), Associate Diploma of Recreation Leadership (Footscray Institute of Technology) , Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Box Hill TAFE), Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (Australian Red Cross,Victoria), World Studies in Employee Health, Fitness and Leisure and lectured on this topic at universities in Japan, across USA, Canada, Australia and Germany.
Carole Goldsmith is an international journalist reporting across the Asia Pacific region. Over the past twenty years she has written feature articles for media in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, USA, New Zealand and Australia. She writes on environmental issues, international trade, export, cross cultural awareness, mining, construction. OHS, human resources and management, mental health and depression, business, logistics, manufacturing, nanotechnology and health, Japan, Korea and China. She is also an international public relations consultant assisting businesses by writing their entries to enter manufacturing, logistics and export awards.
Carole is a business mentor to eight small businesses though a Government funded business program. She is also a trainer in Australia, teaching and developing a very wide range of courses in business, public relations, customer service and journalism. As examples of her courses, Carole has taught Cross Cultural Business Analysis as part of the Advanced Diploma of International Trade at RMIT University TAFE, and Journalism two in the Advanced Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing at Holmesglen TAFE, both in Victoria, Australia. She has also taught Tourism and Cross Cultural Awareness in the Diploma of Tourism at Metropolitan Business College in Sydney. Carole is a Japan culture and budget travel specialist and teaches courses on Japan and Korean budget travel, plus is writing an E book on How to Travel Japan on a Budget.
Carole has completed a wide range of short business courses and attended seminars in trade, business, international cross culture, OHS, customer service and international relations in Australia and internationally. She has worked in animal nutrition research in Germany for three years and has conducted public relations projects for union, business, federal and state government plus economic development for local government in Victoria, NSW and QLD, across Australia. As well as English, Carole speaks fluent German, intermediate French and Japanese, plus is learning Mandarin and Korean. She enjoys a work life balance and attends regular courses in pottery and painting, pilates, body balance, yoga, Japanese and Mandarin.
Paul Evans

Paul brings three decades of real world business experience. His business expertise includes many internional Project Management programmes, Directorships and Managerial positions. Pauls' active participation in the bookkeeping profession ensures he is up-to-date with current accounting practices. His background in international business, is an added bonus.
Andrea Downes
B.SC Equine Science, Welfare and Behaviour (Easton College currently enrolled), Certificate in Education,, Veterinary Nursing Qualification,pre-Veterinary Nursing Certificate, Dipolma in Animal Care.
Andrea is a committed tutor with a passion for caring for animals. In her current position Andrea is responsible for the coordination of the veterinary nursing course at TOCES. Most of her working career has been devoted to Veterinary Nursing and practices.
Andrea likes to keep up-to-date with current trends in veterinary practices. On of her most recent achievments was taking a group of students to complete a conservation project in Africa to support young children.
Katie Freeth
BSc. (Hons) Horticulture,(University of Bath); RHS General Examination; FI Hort; MIfpra;
An experienced and professional horticulturist with extensive management skills gained internationally; experienced in landscape management, staff supervision and management, written and oral communication, horticultural knowledge and application, supported by organisational and administrative skills and attention to detail. Katie brings 20 years experience in Horticulture and is an accomplished lecturer, horticulture consultant and freelance writer. Katie is a judge for the International Awards for Liveable Communities in the Whole City Category.
Katie also worked for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in France for approx 5 years – first as a Sector Manager and then as an Area Manager; management of the cemeteries, peripatetic teams of gardeners (UK & French nationality) for the constructed cemeteries and memorials and static French nationality gardeners for small town/village plots. She also supervised the Area Arboriculture Team and was Exhumations Officer – in charge of collecting discovered remains and arranging identification (if poss) and interment of same.
Elizabeth Graves
BSc Hons Human Biology (Oxford Brookes University), Candidate for MA, Nutirition & Dietetics, (Griffiths University).
After graduating in Human Biology from Oxford Brookes University, Liz has been working since 1997 in the UK in the medical industry including being a Medical Representative, Medical Advisor, Medical Information Manager. Liz is currently studying towards a Masters Degree in Nutrition and dietetics at Griffith University in Australia.
Sophie Hall-Aspland
B.SC (Hons) Biological Science ( University of Exeter, UK), M.Sc Marine and Fisheries Science, (University of Aberdeen and Marine Research Institute), Phd Conservation Ecology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, (University of Sydney), PG Cert River Restoration and Management, Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, Australia, Currently completing Cert IV Training and Assessment, Charles Darwin University, Northern Territory, Australia and Cert IV Conservation and Land Management, Batchelor Institute, Northern Territory, Australia.
Sophie has a wide and varied background in Environmental studies, Conservation and Land Management. In her current position, Sophie lectures on Consevation and Land Management, at the School of Health, Business and Science, Batchelor Institute of Indegenous Tertiary /Educatuion, East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. She has also been an Honoary Lecturer at the School of Veterinary Science, Charles Sturt University, NSW. Other positions include, Ecologist, Rersearch Biologist, Research Assistant and Zoo Keeper at the Marine Mammal Department, Zoological Parks Board of NSW.
Sophie whose work appears in over 13 publications is also, the winner of many awards and funding. Her current research programmes include:- accoustic behaviour in estuanne crocodiles, movements and diet of snow leopards using stable isotope techniques and the hormonal and accoustic behaviour in captive Brazilian tapir. She is also a member of : - Ecological Society of Australasia, Australia Marine Sciences Association, Associate Member of the Scientific Committee for Antartic Research on Seals, Associate Member of Australasian Zoos Research Advisory Group, and Scientific journal reviewer for Marine Ecology Progress Series, Marine Mammal Science and Oecologia.
Richard J. Harley

Richard has over 25 years of successful hands-on experience in helping businesses develop and expand. He has consulted in many countries advising and assisting a wide-range of companies, and international funding agencies. International clients include among others: The World Bank; Asian Development Bank; ILO; UNIDO; DfID; European Union; EU Commission; African Development Bank Africa; The British Council; The Commonwealth Secretariat.
Nick Howarth

Nick's business experience in IT, Management and Bookkeeping expands over 20 years. His various positions held with Hewlett Packard include: Sorftware Development Engineer, Support, Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Manager – Response Centre and Support & Operations Manager for Sirenic Ltd. In addition to his extensive IT career, Nick is also the Director of Southhampton Bookkeeping Ltd providing bookkeeping services to clients and also tutoring students for the ICB exams.
Theresa A Kahn

Cert of Education, Cert in Stress Management and Performance Coaching, Cert Problem focused Counselling, Coaching and Training.
Theresa has a diverse background as a Training Consultant, Performance Coach and Therapist and is an experienced tutor in the delivery of Personal Development courses and workshops in Stress Management, Positive Thinking, Visualisation, and Reiki Healing. During her 20 years experience in Life Coaching and Stress management, her clients include the Oxford Further Education College, Sheppards Bush Housing, RBKC Town Hall and City of Westminster College. She also works from time to time as a Training Consultant with the CWC. Theresa is also active in Life Coaching and runs a private practice where she assists clients on a face to face basis.
Her professional experience has allowed her to set up many training courses for such clients as, Hilton Hotels, the Home Office, St Mary's Hospital, Goldman & Sachs Bank and Brindley Estate.
Kenny Lau

Kenny's area of expertise is computing and his industry experience includes Developer, I.T. Coordinator, Processing, Data Entry. He also, specialises in Software Engineering, UML, Format Methods, Design Patterns, Object-Orinetaed Design, Real-Time OS, Distributed Networking and IT Security.
In his current position as a Developer his work involves .NET Development (VB.NET/C#), SQL Server Administration, Bespoke Software, Customer Support.
When Kenny isn't at his computer he can be found behind the control panel learning to fly.
Yvonne Leach

All Yvonnes working career has been devoted to the travel and tourism industry. Her 35 years experience in this environment has seen her hold positions from trainer to acting as a travel consultant and event management organiser. She is currently a consultant and trainer for the S.E.Guides Training Programme as well as being an Event Management consultant responsible for planning and executing corporate events, including conferences, team building, incentive events and working with blue chip companies including Pfizer UK and Axa Insurance.
Yvonne, also specialises in working in, and lecturing about Incoming/Domestic tourism in the UK and aspects of both Heritage and Rural tourism. She has her own company which specialises in planning events and weddings in Italy, as well as creative itineraries for tours throughout the UK. Winning the South-East Tourism Marketing Award was one of the highlights of her career.
Noor Mazhar

Noor has extensive experience in education and his main fields are in the history of ideas, literature and their reciprocal relationship. He tutors students for Psychology and Developmental Psychology. As an added achievement, he has also obtained with distinction diplomas in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English for Business Purposes (ESP).
John Mellon

John has worked in a range fields including management, professional public-speaking, fund-raising, and running his own business. He presented for the CHRIE conferences at regional and national levels, and acts as a guest lecturer for the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association, American Home Economics Association, and Pennsylvania School Food and Service Supervisors Association.
Hussein Mirza
Cert.Ed., B.Com., D.M.S, M.B.A., Ph.D Accounting / Finance & Management
Hussein lectures in Accounting, Finance and Management. He was formerly Head of the Professional Accountancy Courses at the Management and Professional Studies Unit of Oxford College and Director of Accountancy and Management in Al-Omani Institute of Education and Vocational Training, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Hussein has held senior accountancy positions with multinationals in the United Kingdom, including the Ministry of Defence and Oxfam. He is an EDEXCEL qualified Trainer, Assessor, and Verifier holding D-Units. He is also an Accreditor for Prior Learning holding APL qualifications.
Kevin Michael O'Doherty
Sc Psychology (Honours), (Wolverhampton University), Post Grad Diploma - Health in Psychology (Coventry University), Post Grad Cert in Further and Higher Education, (Wolverhampton University), Post Grad Diploma Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (Goldsmiths University of London).
Author and experienced trainer and lecturer in the field of Psychology and Health and Social Care. Kevin is also the author of the book: 'The Little Book of Thinking Errors: a Self-Help Guide to Changing Unhelpful Thoughts'. It is a therapeutic introductory book using Cognitive Behavioural techniques. He is now working on his second therapeutice also has his own CBT practice in San Pedro, Marbella and commutes on a regular basis to the U book to be published this year.
His Training and lecturing positions include the Pembroke mental health Centre, City of Westminster College, Matthew Boulton college of further Education and the Kensington and Chelsea MIND organisation. In addition to his lecturing and training schedule he also has his own CBT practice in San Pedro, Marbella and commutes on a regular basis to the U book to be published this year.

Nirmin R Patel

Nirmin's academic career has been devoted to medicine and he brings many years of experience in this profession. Positions he has held include Clinical Audit Officer, Director of Medical Studies at Warnborough and currently Foundation Programme Administrator for the North Middlesex University Hospital, Edmonton London. Nirmin is a very commited tutor always keen tohelp studednts begin their medical careers.
John Perry

John is the Managing Director of CfEL (Counselling for Effective Learning'). His background is in teaching, lecturing and counselling. He has several certificates in Teacher/Trainer Group Work Skills and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. He has a great deal of experience in teaching students of all levels up to Masters and he has experience of tutoring by distance learning at the Open University. He has lectured in all aspects of counselling, psychology, management, personal development and applied social sciences. His current research interests lie in the areas of learning and development, specifically in the facilitation of learning experiences which are "personally meaningful" for the student.
Luke Smith

Luke's 7 years in the fitness industry combined with his 6 years teaching Anatomy, Physiology, Sport Science, Fitness and Business enhances his teaching qualifications. He is currently enrolled on a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree programme.
John Snape
B.A. Psychology / Sociology (Open University), PGCE (University of London), M.A. Psychology (University of Durham), PhD Psychology (University of Leeds)
John has a wealth of experience in psychology and psychiatry. He has worked as a tutor, lecturer and course leader for the University of Teesside, Northampton University College, the University of Wolverhampton and Middlesbrough College. He is currently a Reviewer of Psychology for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.
He has taken part in many conferences in areas relating to stress, mind matters, emotions, and depression, fatigue, sex and gender issues. Dr Snape has lectured in different aspects of psychology, including educational psychology, health psychology, abnormality and cognitive psychology. John is a member of the Institute of Management, the British Psychological Society, the Health Service Careers Tutors Association, and holds fellowships at the College of Preceptors and Durham University Society.
Paul Thomas

Paul brings with him over 20 years experience in International Marketing for leading global Pharmaceutical, Biotech and AgroChemical companies. He has co-ordinated Pan European Product Launches and been responsible for Global Sales and Marketing of On-Line Media products to the Pharmaceutical and Competitor Intelligence communities. He has past lecturing experience at colleges and a University in Canterbury. More recently he has run his own Financial Services Business and been involved in negotiating sports contracts for young aspiring professional players.
David Whyte
Higher National Diploma in Arboriculture, (BTEC), Higher National Certificate in Horticulture (SCOTVEC), National diploma in Horticulture, (SCOTVEC), National Certificate in Horticulture SCOTVEC. Current: - process of becoming LANTRA instructor.
David's 23 years experience and continuous participation in the Horticultural environment has allowed him to win many awards. These include: Outstanding Performance on Teaher Training course, International exposition to Kunming City, China, International Presentation on Forests and Culture to Estonia, Community Awareness on Native Woodland Conservation and International Scholarship to Scandinavia.
For most of his working career David has taught in the field of Horticulture and Arboriculture. In addition to his formal qualifications he holds many technical qualifications including, PA1 & PA6 Pesticide Application Cert, Chainsaw Maintenance Cert, Manual Handling Techniques Cert,
David's expertise in horticulture has lead him to hold many positions as a lecturer and trainer. These include, Newcastle College, East Durham and Houghall Community College, Sunderland City Council, Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh (Benmore), Tern Television Productions, Scottish Natural Heritage, Royal Horticultural Society (Wisley) and Angus District Council. He is currently a Technical site Based Trainer (Scotland & North England) for the ISS Facility Services – Landscaping. He is currently in the final stages of of becoming an approved LANTRA instructor.
Ashok Francis
B.A. Science (Mangalore University), Honours in Hardware Engineering & Networking (Indian Institute of Hardware Technology), Post Graduate Diploma - Computer Applications (Institute of Human Resources Development, India).

BA Psychology (University of Stellenbosch) Higher Diploma in Nutrition (University of South Africa).
She has many years of practical experience working using psychology with children’s youth groups in South Africa as part of the Church Development Programs and coaches children in sports. Subsequently based in the UK, she studied nutrition and supplements with the aim of providing professional advice to high performance athletes on sports nutrition. In addition she can guide clients on how best to combat common diseases such as diabetes, cancer, fatigue, excessive weight gain, mood swings etc., via nutrition.
