CD
Receiving your course material on CD-ROM is our most popular method (this gives students portability - some even take their CD’s with them on holidays!). The course material may also be copied and saved to a USB stick, as well as downloading, printing and binding the lessons into a folder for you to organise. CD’s are also an excellent choice for people who have a computer but do not have internet access or have a slow connection.
Online
Online students require a reliable internet connection. Our Student Study Zone allows you to view all of your course material online, anywhere in the world. Students can watch videos, read notes and study illustrations on the computer screen then complete self assessment quizzes to gauge their learning.
Correspondence
Course material may be supplied in a printed format. Students work through notes, practical tasks and assignments. The student is guided by a printed study guide and accompanying materials as well as advice and feedback from tutors. Assignments are submitted to tutors for grading and feedback, and exams can be taken anywhere in the world.

Academic
Writing BWR110 (non-credit)
Academic Writing BWR110 (non-credit) is a mini ten (10) hour module, requiring the completion of one assignment.
Each of the above 8 modules is of 100 hours duration (excluding Academic Writing). Self-tests, assignments and a final examination at the end of each module are compulsory. Unlimited one to one tutor access is provided throughout the program. Courses are updated on a regular basis.
Modules maybe studied in any sequence. Each module is 4 credit hours - a total of 32 credits hours are required to graduate with a grade B+ or more. Opportunities do exist for graduates, without further training; but this course by itself does not, nor should be seen as constituting full medical training.
Entry Requirements:
Pre-Medical Advanced Diploma entry requirements:
Candidates are considered on a case-by-case basis. The basic entry requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent, with good passes in science subjects (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics).
University graduates, transfer students and mature students with or without any science background are also eligible to apply. Those without any science background maybe required to undertake basic science courses first.
English Language Proficiency:
Students whose first language is not English must show proof of English proficiency (IELTS 7.0 +, TOEFL 650+, or equivalent). Students may begin the program without these scores however they will not be allowed to graduate until the required score has been obtained, if required.
Medical School Entry Requirements:
Entry requirements for Medical Universities varies from University to University. Each University will have have it's open unique admission requirements and we advise that you check with the University of your choice to determine if you meet their entry requirements.
The RCSI (Dublin) and RCSI (Bahrain) or St Georges University School of Medicine and other medical universities, consider each application on a case-by-case basis. In addition to ADL's Pre-Medical Advanced Diploma qualification, medical schools take into consideration a number of other factors including academic background, test scores, personal qualities, and intent. All these components are considered for entry, and although successful completion of the ADL Pre-Medical Advanced Diploma is highly recognised, the final decision for entry is at the discretion of the Medical School.
How does the Pre-Medical program work?
Students first enrol with ADL. All course material is supplied by ADL and students have unlimited access to ADL tutors who mark all assignments. Upon completion of all module assignments, students then nominate to sit for the exam for the module they have completed. Exams are held in the students own location and you sit for them when you are ready. Students complete the exam application form and nominate an appropriate Adjudicator to administer the exam. On satisfactory completion of all modules, exams and course work, ADL then awards the Pre-Medical Advanced Diploma together with official transcript and Letter of Recommendation.
How Long will the Program take to complete?
Study is self-paced to fit your own lifestyle, motivation and commitment. Each module is of 100 hours duration (the equivalent of 100 hours in a classroom setting). For example, committing 10 hours per week of study to one (1) module, would take approximately 10 weeks to complete. Five (5) hours per week of study would take 20 weeks to complete etc. Module exemption may be permitted on academic evidence and/or assessment. See Recognition of Prior Learning.
Students may undertake more than one module at any one time. Before deciding on the number of modules you might wish to study concurrently, careful consideration should be given to work, home and any other commitments you might have. Overtaxing your time will result in poor grades.

When may I start?
Students may enrol at any time, start at any time from any where in the world and complete the program at their own convenience - it's all self-paced. ADL has made the program as flexible as possible to help students study round their personal commitments at home and at work. However, since each Medical University sets its own deadline for admissions, it is advisable to work towards their entrance requirements.
Does the Program cover Practical work?

Upon satisfactory completion of all modules and examinations and meeting all academic and other requirements, ADL awards the Pre-Medical Advanced Diploma together with an Official Transcript listing modules taken and grades achieved and a Letter of Recommendation.
