Learn about culturing and caring for trees. This Advanced Certificate focuses on the culture and care of trees, providing a sound foundation for any working or hoping to work with tree establishment or maintenance. Arboriculture I BHT106 A good foundation in tree care and culture. This course develops your skills and understanding in diagnosis and treatment of tree disorders, whether pests, diseases, nutritional or water problems, or something else. You learn about the standard tree surgery practices, to prune and train both young and established trees, and safety measures to follow.

Arboriculture II BHT208 Build on your existing aboriculture knowledge! Develops your ability to manage trees beyond Arboriculture I, in order to minimize potential long term tree problems. Australian Native Trees VHT115 Gain knowledge about Australian native tree species. This course first teaches you about different types of Australian flora, plant identification, information sources, planting, feeding, soils, pests & diseases, watering, propagation and transplanting. The remaining lessons then deal with selected varieties of trees, windbreak planting, agroforestry, tree maintenance and tree selection.

Deciduous Trees BHT244 Learn to classify, identify and culture deciduous trees. To develop your ability to select and cultivate appropriate varietes of Australian Native Trees in different situations.Deciduous plants shed their leaves in autumn or early winter, and are fully or partially devoid of foliage over the colder months of the year. This is an adaptation that allows the plant to better survive unfavourable conditions (such as extreme cold).
